Here are some words from Carl Krajniak, Jar Show
Program Chairman, to explain how the Jar Shows work.
The purpose of having jar shows is to have a friendly
competition among club members. Being in competition
can enhance your skills in learning the difference
between nice fish and show fish. It's also a nice
way to show off the fish you're keeping at home.
Participation in jar shows is also a way to encourage
you, as members, to enter your fish and aquatic life into
the open show competitions of other area clubs, whenever
the opportunity arises.
Experienced members of G.D.A.S. will be asked to
judge the jar shows. It's a great way to train the eye
in looking for that something extra that makes an
entry a winner.
Participation in the Jar Show Program, win or loose,
makes everyone a winner, you're the glue that makes
G.D.A.S. strong, BE ACTIVE!
The current Jar Show Rules are:
1. Only members of GDAS may enter competition for awards.
2. An exhibitor may enter as many entries as they want, there
is no charge for entries.
3. There may be no more than one fish or aquatic animal per
container, unless that container has a divider inserted.
4. Any container will be allowed with at least one flat side
(not including the bottom).
5. An exhibitor may either be one person, two persons, or
a family. An individual exhibitor may disengage from a
group, but must start over as far as his/her point total.
6. Gravel is optional at the exhibitor's discretion. It is not
necessary.
7. Judges cannot have an entry in the Jar Show they are judging.
8. Any questions or problems concerning the Jar Show are to be
directed to the Jar Show Chairman.
9. Judge's decisions are final and are not subject to appeal.
